Current: Using Time Budgets
Using Time Budgets lets your company compare actual worked time against an expected job or schedule budget. Budgets are useful for overage review, reporting, and optional budget adjustment rules.
Turn On Budget Tracking
Start from Admin > Settings > General Settings and enable the company setting for tracking overage or budgeted job length. When that setting is enabled, job and schedule forms can show budget fields.
The company setting makes budget fields available. It does not automatically adjust time entries by itself.
Set A Job Budget
Open Work > Jobs, edit the job, and enter Budgeted time for this job. Use hours and minutes, such as 08:00 for an eight-hour budget.
If your company only needs budget-versus-actual reporting, leave the Budget Adjustment Rule set to No Adjustment / Report Only. The budget can still help supervisors review overage without changing worked time.
Use Schedule Overrides Only When Needed
A schedule can carry its own budgeted time or adjustment rule when a recurring shift needs to differ from the job default. If the schedule should follow the job, leave the schedule-level override blank or set it to the option that uses the job setting.
Schedule overrides are useful for special coverage patterns, one-time shifts, or recurring schedules where the expected duration is different from the broader job.
Budget Adjustments And Breaks
Budget adjustment rules decide whether Telephone Timesheets should leave the employee's actual worked time alone, match the job or schedule budget, or adjust time only in certain overage or tardy situations.
When the ignore-unpaid-breaks budget adjustment option is enabled, automatically deducted unpaid breaks are ignored only for the budget adjustment calculation. Breaks still appear as break activity, and ordinary break tracking and reporting do not change.
