Inbound Call Blocking controls which caller IDs are allowed to use the IVR. Use this dialog to block employee mobile phones, restrict IVR access to job-site-linked numbers, and maintain a list of blocked caller IDs.
These settings control how the IVR treats incoming phone numbers. Review the options below before enabling whitelist-style restrictions so you understand how employee mobiles, landlines, and blocked numbers will be handled.
Option Descriptions
Primary Blocking Controls
Block incoming calls to system from employee mobile phones
Prevents employees from calling the IVR from their registered mobile phone numbers. If an employee calls from a blocked mobile number, the system answers with a message directing them to call from a job-site landline and then disconnects.
Only allow calls from numbers that are linked to a Job Site
Restricts IVR access to numbers that are linked to a job site. Any number that is not linked to a job site is treated as unauthorized and hears the unauthorized-number message before the call ends.
Blocked Number List
Block specific phone numbers
Lets you enter phone numbers that should always be rejected by the IVR.
Add Number
Adds the phone number in the entry form to the blocked-number list.
Blocked Numbers
Shows the phone numbers currently blocked for this company and lets you remove a number from the list.
How The Settings Work Together
Mobile blocking and linked job sites
If employees are already linked to job sites by mobile number, those links may need to be removed before mobile blocking can be enabled.
Whitelist mode
When Only allow calls from numbers that are linked to a Job Site is enabled, the whitelist rule becomes the primary control. Any phone number not linked to a job site will be blocked.
Landlines and mobile numbers
If you want a landline or a mobile number to be accepted while whitelist mode is enabled, make sure that number is linked to the correct job site first.
